The Three Graces Pavilion (794 Kb)

The Three Graces PavilionThe Three Graces Pavilion in the Private Garden was the last creation of Ch. Cameron in the Pavlovsk Park. It was designed in 1800 as the antique portico, with sixteen Ionic columns, carrying out light arch. I. Prokofiev designed bas-reliefs on the frontons. They depict Apollo from the side of the Private Garden and Minevra from the street side.

Soon after the creation of the pavilion, in 1803, it was completed by the marble sculpture of The Three Graces by Paolo Trescorni, the famous sculptor of that epoch. Beautiful women's figures are slim, full of poetry and harmony - like the Pavilion itself.
