THE OLD SYLVIA

The Old Sylvia sector of the park. The monument of an unknown sculptor of the late 19th century. The area was formed by V. Brenna in 1793. This is a woody region featuring a formal lay-out, narrow avenues lined with bronze statuary, stone stairways, Amphitheatre, Ruin Cascade and Old Sylvia Ponds. Nineteen bronze statues decorate the circus from which radiate twelve avenues leading to the Amphitheatre, Ruin Cascade and the broad expanse of the Parade Ground.
